We price by the linear foot of lights we hang. You don't need to measure anything — we work out the footage from your photos and the map, and your quote is one clear number.
Single-story rooflines
$4.50 / linear ft
Eaves and gutter lines you can reach from a standard ladder, plus porch railings and ground-level runs.
Second story, gables & peaks
$6 / linear ft
Upper gutter lines and sloped roof edges. Longer ladder sets and more time per foot.
Steep, high or tricky sections
Quoted
Tall upper peaks, steep pitches and hard-to-reach spots are priced individually from your photos — if they can be done safely.

Most homes land between $450 and $1,100. A small front porch or a single gable usually falls under the $400 minimum.

We measure and price it
We check your photos and the map view for footage, height and access, then text you a price.
Pick an install date
Approve the quote by text and choose a day. Have your lights ready — or ask us what to buy.
We hang them, you plug in
We clip, run and test everything, set your timer if you have one, and clean up. You pay after.
Which photos to send
- The whole front of the house, from across the street

- Your lights, if they’re already out of storage
For most homes that's all we need. If something can't be judged from photos — like a steep upper peak — we'll say so and may stop by to look before quoting that part.

Rooflines & gutters
Straight, evenly spaced runs along eaves and gutters — the classic outline most homes want.
Gables & peaks
Sloped roof edges that frame the front of the house. Upper peaks are quoted from photos when they can be reached safely.
Garage rooflines
Often the easiest win: one clean line over the garage makes the whole front read as finished.
Porches & railings
Porch beams, columns, deck and stair railings — wrapped or run straight, your call.
Windows & doors
Outlines around the front door or key windows where there’s a way to attach without damage.
Trees & bushes
Net lights or wraps on shrubs and small trees you can reach from the ground or a short ladder.

Ladders in November rain
Portland roofs are wet, mossy and slick most of the season. That’s exactly when people fall. We bring the right ladders and don’t work in bad weather.
It looks straight
Even spacing and clean corners take longer than you’d think. It’s most of what separates a “we tried” house from a finished one.

A typical front-of-house install takes us a few hours. Doing it yourself usually eats a full Saturday — plus the untangling.

Straight answers on what’s safe
If a section of your roof isn’t safe to light, we’ll tell you plainly and quote the rest.
Takedown in January
Add removal when you book and we come back in early January, take everything down, coil and label each strand by section, and leave them boxed in your garage for next year.
Labeled strands also make next year’s install faster.
Removal booked with install: +40% of the install price. Removal only (lights someone else hung): quoted from photos, $200 minimum.
When to book
We install from early November through mid-December. Lights can go up in November and stay off until you’re ready — most people switch them on after Thanksgiving.
The week after Thanksgiving fills first. Requesting your quote in October or early November gets you the most date options.

Safe access comes first
Every install depends on safe access to your home. We look at height, roof pitch, roof and gutter condition, ground conditions for ladders, and where your outdoor outlets are before we commit to a section.
We may leave out or adjust sections we can't reach safely — for example very steep or tall peaks, wet or mossy roofing, loose gutters, or no stable footing for a ladder. When that happens, we tell you before we start and you don't pay for that section.
We don't work in high wind, ice or heavy rain. If weather moves your date, rescheduling is free. We plug into your existing outdoor outlets and don't do electrical wiring as part of a lighting install — if outlets look overloaded or aren't weather-protected, we'll point it out.

How much does Christmas light installation cost in Portland?
Installing your lights starts at $4.50 per linear foot for single-story rooflines, with a $400 minimum. Most front-of-house installs run $450–$1,100, depending on footage, height and how many gables or peaks are involved. We send an exact price after seeing your photos.
Do I need to measure my roofline?
No. Send photos and your address and we work out the footage from those and the map view. You get one number, not a math problem.
Do you provide the lights?
Right now we install lights you already own. If you need lights, tell us — we’ll tell you what type and how many feet to buy, and we can pick up clips and extension cords for you at cost.
Can you quote without coming out?
For most homes, yes. If part of the house can’t be judged from photos — usually a tall or steep upper peak — we’ll tell you and may stop by before quoting that section.
Do you do two-story houses?
Yes, when the sections can be reached safely with our ladders. Second-story lines, gables and peaks are priced from $6/ft. Very steep or tall peaks may be quoted separately or left out — we’ll tell you before we start.
Will you nail or staple into my house?
No. We use plastic clips that hold onto gutters and shingle edges and come off clean.
What if a strand stops working after you install it?
If something we hung comes loose, we come back and re-secure it. If one of your strands fails, we can swap it for a replacement you provide or pick up.
How do I pay?
You pay after the install. We accept cash, Venmo, Zelle and major credit cards.
Do you also do Halloween lights?
Yes. Book both and we take your Halloween lights down at no extra charge on the same visit we install your Christmas lights.
